The ED-V GmbH Team visited his partner IQD in their facilities, the former FOQ Piezotechnik, to see the production process of the different oscillator products.

¬  After IQD's acquisition of FOQ Piezo Technik GmbH in the first Quarter 2011 the ED-V Team visited the partner in the facilities in Bad Rappenau.
In an intensive training technical knowledge, application opportunities and unique features of the locally produced components were discussed and demonstrated. The production process was shown during a tour through the facility. The production of the various VCXOs, TCXOs und OCXOs devices in a cleanroom, class 1000, was visited.
With this equipment high quality products are produced. Their yearly aging rate are < 1 ppm for VCXOs and TCXOs and < 30 ppb for OCXOs produziert werden. The company has a long experience with VCXOs in the the frequency range up to 800 MHz and with OCXOs with holdover stabilities better than +/- 12 ppb, according Stratum 3 E . The major fields of applications are within telecommunication, like UMTS, WCDMA, WiMax, SDH/Sonet and measurement technology. However, customer specific requirements for e.g. the industrial automation branch, can be delivered.

LED Solutions

¬  A significant contribution to the reduction of the cost of energy and the reduction of hardware and maintenance cost are made by the modern LED technology.
LEDs need less energy at the same brightness and last significant longer than the conventional incandescent lamp. They als offer a variety of new design possibilities. The available TED technology can be used today for applications which had been a domain of the incandescent lamp in all its variation.

To support this fast growing market ED-V GmbH will expand the portfolio by a new product line, High Brightness LED-solutions:
State of the Art semiconductor technology "developed and made in the US" is combined with quality housing and optics "made in Asia". The results are very cost efficient and offer very much flux/Euro.

¨ REACH ¨  

Since 20. June 2011 the REACH candidate list shows 53 SVHCs (Substances of Very High Concern). When those substances are in an article with more than 0,1% the supplier is obliged to inform his customer about that fact.
ECHA and the authorities in Bruxelles plan to increase tha amount of SVHCs to 120 by the end of 2012 and roughly 170 until end 2015.

¬  Under the REACH regulation ED-V GmbH is acting as distributor and importer of articles. The duties we have to comply to are to inform our customers if any substance of very high concern (SVHC) is contained in a product with more than 0,1% of mass. This is based on REACH Art 33. 1. In this case we have to give the information to our customer including a safety instruction. We are closely watching the development of the candidate list. The attached file will show you all the substances and their CAS Nr.
As soon as any change is made to the annexes XIV, XV and XVII we are contacting our manufacturers and supplier and ask them to investigate wether or not their products are affected. In August 2010 the EU Commission put regulation EU 757-2010 in affect. The POP (Persistant Organic Pollutants) Regulations shows substances which cannot be used in any article and cannot be authorized like substances in annex XVII of REACH.

Innovasic Semiconductor Announces World's First Downloadable EtherNet/IP Connectivity Solution

¬  Innovasic Semiconductor has announced the new RapID™ Platform connectivity solution for EtherNet/IP adapters. The entire platform can be downloaded directly from INNOVASIC for a risk-free, no cost evaluation. This is not a demo version – it is fully functional and pre-tested for EtherNet/IP conformance including electronic schematics, bill of materials, and layout files, as well as all necessary software, stacks, and development environment. Evaluation of the RapID Platform download can be performed on hardware via the Internet or at the customer's site.
The solution is centered on Innovasic's fido® communication controller which handles all EtherNet/IP traffic. The RapID Platform can be used as a "network processor" alongside any host microcontroller. It can also be used as a standalone solution with the customer's application running directly on the RapID Platform. All software is royalty-free with no hidden fees. The schematic has been carefully designed to provide robust, long-life, industrial-class performance at the lowest possible bill of material (BOM) cost. The Ethernet physical interface includes protection circuitry, bicolor LEDs, and magnetics integrated in the connector. The RapID Platform achieves an EtherNet/IP packet interval (RPI) of 1 ms and supports the full CIP Specification including Identity, Message Route, Assembly, Connection Manager, Ethernet Link, and TCP/IP Objects.
